I’ve been working on two little mixed media paintings this week. I’m trying to do two new artworks a week. They don’t have to be big pieces. I’ve used found images, spray paint and gold leaf on these two.
Artwork
These artworks are based around camouflage. I have used mixed media in most of these works.
Boy Toy
This artwork is painted directly onto a found door, I have used a mixture of cut out silhouettes from wallpaper, spray paint and collaged images. I then finished off with gold leaf.
Those were the days.
Another new artwork. This time with two cameos cut from wallpaper. The background is a mixture of household, children’s paints and varnish, slowly building up the layers. I then finished off with gold leaf which finishes it off.
New artwork. There is beauty within
I have used a mixture of household, children’s paints and varnish to create the background of this artwork. I them collaged flowers and a cameo cut from wallpaper. I have made a frame from wood I found in my garden. I then transfered napkins onto the frame to add another layer to it, I then finished off with gold leaf.
Two new artworks in the vestiges series
These artworks are part of the vestiges series which have been produced as part of my exhibition in Wolverhampton. These will be on show at a wonderful pub called the chindt which is based in Chapel ash, one of the oldest parts of Wolverhampton. The paintings feature Michaelangelo’s David. The fist is a spray painted stencil onto a collaged background and the second is cut out of wallpaper. I have handmade the go frames using found pieces of wood.
Updated website
I have recently updated my website which now has most of my artwork on it. I am busy building frames for some new artworks that I can’t wait to share with you, They will be on show at a local pub which has given us a fantastic space to work with as part of the junction festival of arts held every year in Wolverhampton. The empire strikes back Fibonacci
I have created this work out of a comic I found in the loft which was the empire strikes back from the start wars films. The illustrations are amazing so I decided to build a Fibonacci pattern using cut outs to build the shape. The background is different paints poured slowly to give add colour
