These artworks are based on Marie Antoinette’s time at Le petit trianon where she was free from court protocol and enjoyed nature.
These two artworks are made in a similar way with two different themes, one shows Marie Antoinette spending time in her garden at Le Petit Trianon and the other shows Crazy horse, he was at one with his horse when he went into battle. The text is from the Abba song S.O.S about love coming to an end. I thought this was appropriate for these two painting of these historical figures who both died at 37 years of age.

My Gallery, White Bee was at the Royal oak, Chapel Ash, Wolverhampton yesterday as part of The Junction Festival of contemporary art. Which runs for three day 3rd – 5th July. I invited artists I have know for a long time to join me there and the exhibition was organic in nature and grew throughout the day, we had a great time setting up and enjoying the lovely real ale they serve.
I have been working in the beautiful sunshine today. I have nearly finished my new painting True Colours (2) Mixed Media on found frame. I have added some stripes of oil glazes in various colours that work well as glazes as they are translucent. These stripes add another dimension to the artwork and create depth (well I hope they do) Hope you are all enjoying the glorious weather today.
Here is my new mixed media artwork of The Green Man, Back to reality. I have used pages from the book The diary of an Edwardian lady by Edith Holden for the back ground as it has such beautiful handwriting. The face is hand painted in oil. I have used images from a book on roses and also a book on moths and butterflies.
I have been working on a number of small works, some of which will be available at Shop in the Square, Wolverhampton. I am also setting up a small gallery space in my back garden and have been busy sprucing up the lean to conservatory to house some of my artwork, which will be available to view by appointment. This will be called, White Bee Gallery
