John Piper’s magnificent window at Coventry Cathedral

This new artwork is an experiment with colour, the brush strokes are not important as I want to implement a technique which I can use in further artworks based on stained glass windows.  I have been using the windows of Coventry Cathedral designed by John Piper which is absolutely spectacular, for research.  I want the oil paint to be luminescent and hopefully the layers will convey some of the ideas I am trying to achieve.
